Obituary

Catherine Ann Dixon passed away on July 19, 2026, in Longview, Texas. She was born on October 5, 1962, in Winnsboro, Texas to Billy Wayne Dixon and Dorothy Joann Attaway Dixon.

Catherine appreciated the quieter pleasures in life as well. She was an avid enthusiast of puzzles, which she approached with the same careful attention and enthusiasm that she gave to all her pursuits.

Family was very important to her, she found joy in every reunion and quiet family gathering, treasuring those precious moments spent together.

She loved going to church, her heart found peace and joy within those sacred walls, surrounded by community and worship. Her faith shone as a guiding light in her life, providing comfort, strength, and an endless well of compassion for others.

Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Sandy Lewers and husband Billy, and Terry Dixon; niece and nephews, Herbert Hobgood, Justin Hobgood and wife Emily and Jennifer Lewers; great nieces and nephews, Chloie, Donavyn, Harper and Johnathon, along with her extended family, J.D. and Debbie Lewers.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Dixon; sister, Barbara Dixon and Nephew, Johnathon Lewers.

To honor and celebrate Catherine Ann Dixon’s life, a visitation will be held at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer on July 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
