Charles Edwin Harris

Charles Harris, 90, passed away on January 3, 2023 in Winnsboro, Texas.  Charles was born in Kaufman County, Texas to Willie Franklin (Bill, Sr.) Harris and Pauline Nicholson Harris on April 1, 1932.

Charles joined the US Army when he was only 18 and was a proud Korean War Veteran.  He will be missed by all who knew him and the memories he made will live on in the hearts of everyone he encountered.

Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce Meldin Harris; four daughters; and his wife’s two daughters.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Billy Harris; sister, Dorothy Tittle; as his great-nephew SSGT Jeremy Daniel Smith USMC who was killed in action during the U.S. War in Afghanistan.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins, Texas at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
