Charles "Jim" James Davidson Sr.

With hearts filled with both sorrow and joy, we celebrate the life of Charles James Davidson Sr., lovingly known as Jim, who left this earthly realm and rejoiced in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 23, 2025. Born on January 19, 1959, in Independence, Kansas, to Evelyn Hunter McBee and Charles John Davidson Jr. "Charlie," Jim was a steadfast Christian who exemplified love and kindness throughout his journey.

Jim's life was a tapestry woven with unwavering faith and devotion to his family. A proud graduate of Independence High School, he embarked on a remarkable 43-year career with Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated countless hours to his work before retiring in January 2024. His colleagues celebrated him as a true gem, known for his work ethic, generosity, and the warmth he brought to the workplace.

To his beloved wife, Bretta, and his cherished children—sons Jimmy and Jacob and daughters Katelyn and Allyson—Jim was an extraordinary husband and father. He loved deeply and took great pride in nurturing a family filled with love and laughter. Christian faith was the cornerstone of Jim’s foundation. We were a covey of quail, Team Davidson 100%, and we still are. Jim will also be missed by his mother, Evelyn McBee, his siblings Sandra, John, and Jack, and of course, his loyal pups, Henry and Arthur, who were always by his side, Arthur was his baby boy.

As we reflect on a life well-lived, we invite you to share in the memories and joy that Jim brought into our lives. In the spirit of celebration, we will honor Jim with funeral services that will take place Friday, December 26, 2025 at 11am at First Baptist Church in Gladewater, Texas. We encourage all who knew Jim to come together to reminisce, share stories, and, most importantly, lift up the bright legacy he leaves behind.

Jim’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who was touched by his kindness and love. We rejoice in the knowledge that he is at peace, wrapped in the love of his Savior. Until we meet again, may we cherish the beautiful memories and honor the incredible man that Jim was.
