Cheryl Dixon Sharma, age 69, of Aubrey passed away on November 13, 2021, with her family by her side.
Cheryl was born March 1, 1952, to Maurine and Wayne Dixon in Lubbock. Cheryl grew up in Longview and was a graduate of Pine Tree High School. She then attended Rick’s College (now BYU Idaho) where she received her nursing degree. Cheryl was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. During that time, she provided care for many families and their loved ones. As her final act of generosity, Cheryl was an organ donor.
Cheryl married Kamal Dev Sharma on March 18, 1976. They met in Salt Lake City, Utah, but quickly made their way to Texas where they raised their family. Cheryl was generous with her talents. She was a skilled tailor and designed and made clothes and accessories for her children and grandchildren. She was an incredible cook and developed her recipes as she was preparing them. Cheryl had a kind and loving spirit. She loved singing, dancing, and Rock ‘n Roll.
Cheryl was a devoted wife, Momma, Mimi, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kamal Dev Sharma; her three children and their partners, Jessica and Nathan Graham, Kristen and Joel Cerefice, Bruce Sharma and Mary Lambrakos; her grandchildren, Miranda Graham, Natalie Graham, and Riley Cerefice; her brother, Gerald Dixon, sister Mary Ann Taliaferro Ford; aunt and uncle Ann and Calvin Kersh; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Evelyn “Laurie” Dixon and Paula Rogers, and brother John Rippy.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Kelsey Cemetery Heritage Center, located at 6380 Magnolia Rd, Gilmer, TX 75644. Reception will immediately follow inside the Heritage Center.
