Chester Lee Brooks, Sr.

On November 14, 1945 Chester Brooks was born to Arelia Brooks Bell and Jack Kay in Tyler, Texas. On Sunday morning, March 22, 2020, Chester saw his first Sunset in Heaven.

Mr. Brooks attended Gladewater Public Schools and is a Retiree of the City of Tyler – Sanitation Department.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jerry Brooks.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Two daughters, Patience Edwards (Kenyon), Rachel Bowie (Vincent, Sr.) of Tyler Texas. One son Chester Brooks, II of Tyler, Texas. Four grandchildren: Victoria, Vincent, Jr., LaNisha Bowie, Kabren Edwards. Three brothers: Charles Washington of Dallas, Hilton Washington and Harvey Lee Washington of Gladewater, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. A private memorial service will be held in accordance with state and local government mandates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
