Funeral service for Danny Mitchell, 50, of Gilmer will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer. Interment will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Upshur County. Danny Mitchell passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in a Longview hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born December 31, 1963 in Gladewater, to Neal and Martha Ann Mitchell. He was a heavy equipment operator, a lifetime resident of Gilmer and a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mitchell; sons, Nathan Mitchell and wife, Marsha, Jason Wayne Potter and Christopher Lee Potter; daughters, Danita Garza and husband, Jeff, Addie Miller and husband, Andrew, Chrissy Ann Thomas and Debra Sue Potter; sisters, Sharon Walters, Paula Keeling and Christi Haywood and husband, Donny; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Martha Ann Mitchell; daughter, Emily Mitchell; brother, John Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
