Deborah Ann Shepherd, 72, of Gilmer, Texas passed away on April 27, 2026. Deborah was born on May 19, 1953, in Dallas, Texas to Leon J. Wilson and Annie Pearl Barker.

Deborah spent many years as a secretary for the state of Texas Child Protective Services (CPS), where she worked for 32 years before retiring. Her commitment to her job and the people she served was evident throughout her career.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, James Shepherd of Gilmer; daughter, Kristy Fletcher and husband Willie of Pittsburg; son, Kevin Wright of Waco; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; stepson, Frank Shepherd of Pittsburg; stepdaughter, Jessie Goff and husband Bufford; brothers, Richard Wilson of Diana and Gary Wilson of Leesburg.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Vickie Waldrop.

Services for Deborah will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer at 11:00 A.M with visitation being 1 hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas.
