Memorial services for Dennis Leon Bennett, 82, of Queen City, Texas, will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Open Door Baptist Church in Queen City, Texas, with Bro Chuck Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends in a time of fellowship starting at 2:00 PM just prior to the service.
Mr. Bennett passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, surrounded by his family in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on December 4, 1943, in Atchison, Kansas to Almus Leon Bennett and Lois Morris. On August 23, 1964, in, Waynesville, Missouri, he married Mrs. Joann Graves. Mr. Bennett proudly served in the United States Air Force working on the Minute Man Missiles. He was a master electrician and worked for several of the area cable and electric companies. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors and in nature, from fishing to hunting. He was also an avid stamp collector and league bowler. Dennis was also a devoted and faithful member of Open Door Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Kelly Bennett of Queen City, granddaughter, Emilee Bennett, brothers, Tom Bennett and wife Clara, Jim Bennett and wife Earllene, and brother-in-law, Frank Graves and wife Bonnie, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Bennett, parents, Almus and Lois Bennett, son, Michael Bennett, and sister, Janet Boothe.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas.
