Dennis Lucas, age 53, of Longview, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2025. Born on June 16, 1972, Dennis lived a life rooted in love, family, and a deep appreciation for the moments that make life meaningful. Dennis was born in Longview, Texas. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. Dennis also attended The University of North Texas and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He then attended University of Texas at Tyler and pursued a post graduate degree in Political Science. He was a sole proprietor in managing properties.
Dennis was known as a loving and caring individual who held his family close to his heart. He especially enjoyed spending time with his mother, Charlotte Lucas. Family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in the relationships he nurtured throughout his life. Whether through laughter, conversation, or simply being present, Dennis made those around him feel valued, supported, and loved.
A true celebrator of life, Dennis embraced each day with gratitude and heart. He found joy in attending and watching sports including wrestling, baseball, football and hockey. He was a lover of music in many genres. Dennis was quite the collector of baseball cards, comic books, vinyl records and vintage toys of his childhood era. His kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his genuine spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Dennis’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the bonds he strengthened, and the countless memories shared with family and loved ones. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit, character, and love will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Charlotte Lucas, and her family, who were a constant source of love and support throughout his life. He is also survived by members of his father’s family, numerous cousins, who were also deeply loved and adored.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Billy Eddings Lucas; his grandmother, Doris Ann Lucas; his aunt Sandra Lucas Childers; his grandfather, Ernest Monroe Hardin; his cousin, Deanna Hardin; and his aunt Ruthie Ellerd Hardin.
A graveside service will be held at Old Kilgore Cemetery on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
Dennis’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the bonds he strengthened, and the countless memories shared with family and loved ones. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit, character, and love will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
