Donna Lee Garrett

With heavy hearts, the Garrett and Bishop families regret to announce the passing of our beloved Nana, Donna Garrett on November 5, 2022. Her fun laughter and contagious smile will be deeply missed.

Donna was a dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. While she was a lifelong care giver, the true love and work of her life was her family. Born Donna Lee Owens in Idabel, Oklahoma in 1946, she was one of two sisters and three brothers. Donna received the love and affection of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids whom she cherished until her death. She moved to Texas and met her true love, Freddy Lynn Garrett of Spring Hill and began a family of her own. She remained married to Freddy for 48 years until his passing in 2014. She was blessed with three children, Stephen Bishop, Stephanie Bishop, and Michael Garrett. She also was blessed with seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren who provided her with activity, adventure, and love until the end.

Donna will be forever remembered and loved by Stephen and Michael, grandsons Dustin, Triston, and Cody. Four granddaughters Whitney, Brandi, Sasha, and Jordin and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Freddy Garrett, daughter Stephanie Bishop and great granddaughter Ke’Asia Martin. The family will be forever grateful to Treviso Transitional Care and their team of care givers for the support and love each of them showed our dear Nana in the last months of her life.

A private graveside service will be held to celebrate her life on Friday, November 11, 2022.
