Dora Ione “Tillie” (Stegall) Davis, 85, passed away at home surrounded by family on August 6, 2026. She was born to Orvis Milton “Mutt” Stegall and Ethel Velma (Beene) Stegall on December 7, 1940 in Upshur County, TX. She attended Harmony ISD then went to secretarial school where she learned shorthand. She married her high school sweetheart, Bobby Delone Davis on September 10, 1960. She went on to have two wonderful boys and had a successful career managing payroll for Gilmer ISD. She was a member of East Mountain Baptist Church.

She loved spending time with her large family, being outside, gardening, reading, cooking, crafting, genealogy, painting, and hosting family events, especially the Stegall Christmas Party. She was an avid letter writer. Never one to just sit down, in her 70s, she and her sister Linda started a seasonal country store where they sold hand-made crafts for Christmas. She was known for her endless supply of love and care, tirelessly nursing countless loved ones through hard times with a smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob; her son Stewart Davis; her parents O.M. and Ethel Stegall, and her siblings, Jackie, Pat, Larry, and Linda. She is survived by her son Randall (Debra) Davis of East Mountain, TX, daughter-in-law Nancy (David) Lewis of Navasota, TX, brother-in-law Jerry Davis of Gilmer, TX, sister-in-law Sandra Bridges of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren Benjamin (Brodie) Davis of Alexandria, VA, Lori Davis of East Mountain, TX, Zachary (Courtney) Davis of Spring, TX, and Elizabeth (Paul) Kinn of Norfolk, VA; great-grandchildren John Davis, Amelia Kinn, and Theodore Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with interment to follow at Enon Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home.
