Obituary

Elizabeth Deneese Smallwood, born July 11, 1968, in Gladewater, TX, left her earthly home February 19, 2026. Elizabeth was a graduate of White Oak High School, where she was known for drawing, crafting, and always having a half-smirk/smile, usually followed by a sarcastic comment. Elizabeth was recognized for her written stories and vivid imagination.

She was renowned for her beautiful singing voice and had a passion for singing karaoke.

If you knew her, you knew that at any moment you could be caught in one of her tight bear hugs and questioned about your day. She loved her children and would often be found talking about them. She had a radiant smile that could light up a room and an infectious laugh.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Smallwood and Sharon Johnson, her brother, Dennis Smallwood, and her grandchild, Remy.

She is survived by: Her partner Kelley Jennings, Children, Lane Horner, Naomi Deneese and Shawn Bates, Gracie Girl and Alex Crooks, Grandchildren, Blazn Gold and Melode, Sister, Leona Smallwood, Niece Erika Smallwood, Nephews Dennis Smallwood and Colton Smallwood, Great Nephew Pheniox, Cousin Mitchelle and June Steele and their children Conner, Brayden, Nicole and Lily along with many other cousins. Elizabeth's cremation is being handled by Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, with her children receiving her remains. She wanted everyone to remember her as she was before her diagnosis, while excluding a memorial. The family will honor her wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Cancer Society
