Elsie Maxine Lloyd

Elsie Maxine Lloyd, 89, passed away at her residence in Gladewater, Texas, on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater with pastors Wayne Flowers and Phil Hodson officiating, under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. No formal visitation is planned. A native of East Texas, Maxine was born July 27, 1921, in Longview, Texas, to Daniel Bluford McFarland Sr. and Sudie Jane Bright McFarland. Maxine and Russell William Lloyd were married in East Mountain, Texas, on February 10, 1942. Together, they raised a family of five children. Maxine enjoyed being a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gladewater, Texas. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diane Mullins and husband Terry of Lake Placid, Florida, and Sandra Lloyd of Gladewater; her sons, Don Lloyd and wife Sue of Dickinson, Texas, George Lloyd of Gladewater and Jerry Lloyd and wife Evelyn of Gladewater; brother, Darwin McFarland and wife Myrtle of Arlington, Texas; sister, Jayne Burkett of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Denise Mullins, Rusty Mullins, Richard Lloyd, Monica Mills, Melissa Lloyd, Randy Lloyd, Justin Lloyd, Jerry Wayne Hicks, Shellie Littlejohn, Tina Daughtry and Tel Halley; great-grandchildren, Macey Mullins, Molly Ahmed, Joshua Mills, Lillie Lloyd-Culp, Quay Lloyd, Cody Hicks, Steven Hicks, Brittni Littlejohn, Logan Littlejohn, Aaron Hicks, Brennon Daughtry and Shae Daughtry; great-great-grandchild, Adrian Hicks; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Daniel Bluford McFarland Jr., Earl McFarland and Wayne McFarland; and sisters, Mildred Hillin and Doris Tutt.
