Etta Bell Snider

Etta Bell Snider August 1, 1932- August 25, 2025, Etta Bell Snider, age 93 of Hawkins Tx, was greeted at Heaven’s gates on August 25, 2025, by her Lord and Savior, her loving husband and her beloved son, Lynn.

On August 1, 1932, God declared that the world needed Etta as he graced her birth to Luther and Mary McBride. Etta was no stranger to hard work, dedication, and service. As one of 14 children, she quickly was introduced to cooking at the age of 11 which became one of the Snider families’ treasures. She had a true servant’s heart that served her family and community well.

As a child, Etta’s family would go to town with each child receiving a dime to spend. Etta would go to the show and buy a coke. This became one of her fondest childhood memories. She also loved getting to read by the coal oil lamp, and equally disliked picking cotton in the fields.

On February 16, 1952, Etta married the love of her life, James C. Snider and soon after, God blessed them with 4 children which later blessed them with 20 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Etta, better known as Granny Snider, was a devoted wife, mother and Granny. As a true woman of God, Etta was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Hawkins. She walked with the Spirit of God all the days of her life. There is no doubt she had a direct line with Jesus and would pray you through any situation of life. For 36 years, Granny Snider opened her heart and home to generations of families and children, changing lives forever.

Waiting for her in heaven were her parents, 13 siblings, her loving husband, and beloved son. Left behind waiting for the glorious heavenly reunion are her children, late Lynn Snider (Mary), Sherri Rushing (Jerry Don), Terry Snider (Janet), and Michael Snider. Grandchildren, Jami Henry (Monty), Michelle Snider, Jeff Snider (Becky), Louie Snider (Lisa), Jeremy Rushing (Debbie), Jason Rushing (Alanna), Jason Williams, LeeAnn McKinstrie (Skyler), Kyle Snider (Hillary), Erin Snider, Colt Snider (Leena), and Caleb Hagin. Great-Grandchildren, Lynze (Lane), Waylynn (Allisah), Dillyn, Carlee, Kaelin, Chris, Alexis (JC), Addy Lyn, Clayton, Collin, Mason, Brantley, Trev, Andi Bell, Kimber, Abram, Logan, Cody (Jana), Josh, Banks, Brooks, Baker, Wyatt, Emerson, Bali, and Harper. Great-Great grandchildren, Skye, Kyree Belle, Harrison, Wesley, Paisley, Blakeley, Whitley, and Kodi.

There is no greater earthly example of unconditional love than that of Granny Snider.
