Faye Dell Pruett Dunn

Faye P. Dunn, age 87, of Gladewater Texas, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Legend Oaks Nursing Home.  She was born to John W.  and Julia E. Pruett in Fannin County Texas on April 7, 1936, and grew up with her surviving sister, Violet L. Pruett Melton, in Irving, Texas. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, an infant twin sister, and infant brother. Also preceding her in death are daughter, Julia Kathleen (Bartmess) Willis, and her son, William (Bill) Eugene Bartmess.

Faye was a longtime resident of Gladewater, Texas.  She met and married her beloved spouse, John G. Dunn on December 1, 2001 and lived and enjoyed their retirement years in the small community. Together, they also shared a love for Gospel hymns and music, and for many years spread the Lord’s message far and wide under the name “Dunn for Him”.  Faye was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gladewater and was very active in various programs and sang in the church choir until failing health kept her at home.  She was a woman of strong faith, which helped her through the many health challenges she endured the last several years.  She cherished time spent with family and friends, gardening, painting, and when she was able, traveling.

Faye is survived by her Husband, John G. Dunn, Sister, Violet L. Melton, and Children, Debra K. Bartmess, Sherrie L. Dunn, Glynn Dunn and wife Linda, and Kenneth Dunn.  Faye is also survived by eight Grandchildren, and fourteen Great-grandchildren.

A private service for her family will be held graveside at Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. and officiated by Pastor Bailey Harris.
