Fern L. Collier

January 15, 1916 — October 5, 2012

Fern Lee Collier was born on January 15, 1916 to Brunson and Lona Lee in Gilmer, Texas, where she attended Gilmer schools. She passed away October 5, 2012, in Gilmer. On October 19, 1940, she married Noble Charles Collier, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1949. Fern was a long time beautician at the Ritz Beauty Salon where she was a partner with her sister, Gracie Lee Sanders. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer. She faithfully served her church as a Primary teacher and as an ordinance worker at the LDS Dallas Temple. Fern was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory are her children and spouses: Bobby Osborne of Gilmer, Kenneth and Ann Collier of Gilmer, Janet and Mel Bowers of Heber, AZ, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a sister, Sally Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews. Fern was also preceded in passing by her four brothers, Wesley Hector, Chester Aden, Aubrey Wright and Boyd Luther Lee; her three sisters, Tempie Ruth Taft, Gracie Lee Sanders, and Violet Ault; also 1 grandchild, Kyle Bowers, and a great grandchild, Shiloh Bigler. Services are 10 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer. Interment will follow at the Gilmer City Cemetery.
