Gary Michael Stegall

Gary Michael Stegall, 73, of Hawkins, TX, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Tyler, TX.  He was born in Pine Bluff, AR on October 10, 1951, to the late Jerry Maurice Stegall and Nell Bowlin Stegall.  Gary married Vicki Syx Stegall on July 24, 1976, who preceded him in death on August 21, 2009. 

For 32 years, Gary poured his heart into his career as a cattle rancher in Hawkins, Texas. His commitment to the ranch and the life it represented was evident in every aspect of his being. Gary's passion extended beyond his work; he cherished spending quality time with his family. He especially enjoyed moments with his grandkids, whether they were riding on his scooter, fishing, or tending to the calves.

He is survived by his children, Stacy Vance and her husband Craig of Troup; Tamala Crawley and her husband Brandon of Hawkins; and Jerry Stegall of Lindale. Gary was also a proud grandfather to Justin Vance and his wife Shyanne; Ashley Bryan and her husband Nolan; Hannah Kate Neville and her husband Colt; Rylan Crawley; and Brynlee Crawley as well as great-grandfather to Emersyn, Truett, Stryder, Lincoln, Rory and Laramie.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Maurice Stegall; his mother, Nell Bowlin Stegall; his beloved wife, Vicki Syx Stegall; and his brother and sister.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on August 3, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins, Texas. A funeral service will follow on August 4, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Craig Vance officiating, also at Croley Funeral Home.  Honorary pallbearers for the services will be Rylan Crawley and Justin Vance.  Interment will take place in the Hawkins City Cemetery following the service.
