Funeral services for Gloria Ann Newquist, 71, of Big Sandy will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at the Summit Heights Fellowship Church in Wood County with Pastor Edward Crouch and Youth Pastor Jake Conner officiating. Interment will be in the Little Mound Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mrs. Newquist passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at a Tyler hospital. Mrs. Newquist was born May 6, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jim and Virginia Perry Skidmore. She was a housewife, had lived in Big Sandy for 20 years and was a member of the Summit Heights Fellowship Church. She is survived by her husband, Keith Newquist; son, Ray Lanier; daughter, Charlotte McKnight; step-brother, Jimmy Skidmore; four grandchildren, Daisy Ray Lanier, Kimberley McKnight, Jacob McKnight and Josuha Estes; and one great-grandchild, Alex McKnight. Pallbearers will be Kraig Newquist, Marc Newquist, Ray Lanier, Randal Brooks, Bo Brooks and Jacob McKnight. Honorary Pallbearer will be Josuha Estes. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins.
