Glynn Hymer Horton

Glynn Hymer Horton passed away on May 9, 2024, in Winnsboro, Texas, at the age of 96. She was born on May 8, 1928, in Upshur County, Texas to Jeffie & Quida (Fennell) Hill.

Throughout her life, Glynn pursued various hobbies and interests that brought her immense joy. Whether she was traveling to new places playing the piano with grace and elegance, attending church services with devotion, spending quality time with loved ones, or showcasing her talent in sewing intricate patterns, Glynn’s vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was known for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and love for her family.

Those left to cherish her memories is her husband, Windell Horton; children, Kay Newland and husband Bryan, Rita Ray and husband Louis, Donny Hymer and wife Lori; grandchildren, Deann Brown, James Ray, and Wes Hymer; along with  9 great-great grandchildren.

Glynn was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Don Hymer, and granddaughter, Lauren Hymer.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Glynn's life will be held on May 11, 2024, at Rosewood Cemetery in Gilmer, Texas with Rev Charles Johnson officiating. The service will commence at 3:00 PM in reflection of the beautiful moments she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their final respects.
