Gregory Don Johnson

Gregory Don Johnson, 62, of White Oak, Texas passed away on May 2, 2023. Greg was born on December 10, 1960 in Amarillo, Texas to Billy and Gayle Johnson.

In his teenage years, Greg enjoyed bull riding where he earned the nickname “Bareback.” Then he spent many years as a long haul truck driver. He also enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycles.  Greg loved his family and all of his dogs. He had an amazing memory and often told stories of growing up.  Greg had a heart for other people, always wanting to help them out, and made friends wherever he went. He will be missed and remembered by many friends, family, and co-workers.

Greg is survived by his parents, Billy and Gayle Johnson of White Oak, Tx; sisters, Trilby (Jim) Lavender of Grapevine, Tx, and Inga (Tracey) Davis of White Oak, Tx.; nephews, Price (Cassidy) Lavender, Sam Lavender, and Dax (Hannah) Davis; nieces, Dayton (Jake) Stanley, and Shelby (Landon) Richeson; Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.

Greg is preceded in death by his grandparents, Heber and Willie Johnson and Kenneth and Norma Coulson.

The family would like to thank all of his friends who helped take care of him and visited him in the hospital these last few months.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
