Horace Lee Nix of Gilmer, was born March 23, 1930, in Del Rose, Texas to Lonnie and Myrtie Nix. He was a Baptist. Horace is preceded in death by his wife Jeffie Roberts Nix; father Lonnie Nix and mother Myrtie Shelby Nix. Horace is survived by his sons Lonnie Ocha Nix and wife Jeanne, Mark Anthony Nix and Kim Pilgrim; daughter Laura Kay Nix Scritchfield; grandchildren Amber Ariola, David Ariola, Kay Parvin, Sammie Ariola, Kasie Scritchfield Roden and husband Robby, Michael Scritchfield, Drake Nix; great grandchildren Abigail Roden, Hailey Roden and Nicholas Scritchfield.
