Obituary

Jane Blynn Hurt Roberson, born on March 16, 1939, in Gilmer, Texas, passed away on July 30, 2026. Jane’s roots ran deep in Gilmer, a community she cherished and served for her entire life.

Jane found her truest calling in the halls of Gilmer High School, serving for many years as a school counselor. Through her compassion, keen understanding, and unwavering support, she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. Her guidance helped shape the futures of many young people, providing not only academic and career advice but also comfort and encouragement during pivotal moments in their lives.

Beyond her professional life, Jane devoted herself to the Church of Christ in Gilmer, where she was a loyal and active member. Her presence at church was marked by warmth and grace, and she found joy in fellowship and worship with her extended church family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ed Roberson of Gilmer; son, Ed Roberson and wife Diane of Chappell Hill, Texas; daughter, Blynn Roberson Wilson of Gilmer; brother, Andy Hurt of Gilmer; grandchildren, Brad Roberson, Emily Dib, Chris Roberson, Shelby Blynn Menard and Seth Wilson; along with ten great grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Leck and Alice Amos Hurt; brothers, Rex Lawrence Hurt and L.D. Hurt; sister, Robbie Lynn Weems.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Gilmer Church of Christ. Interment to follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Gilmer.
