Jerry Arley Echols

Jerry Arley Echols, 79, was born on September 4, 1942, in Atlanta, Tx and passed into the arms of the angels on December 5, 2021, in Longview, TX.

Jerry was a good man with a heart as big as the world. He cared about his family more than he cared for himself. He was, by nature, a protector and a friend. He taught his children, by example, real values; hard work, Family First, being honest in all that you do and say, and to love God. He was a humble man who proudly served his beloved country in the United States Army. He was his son, Danny’s, hero.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandra Echols, of Gilmer; children, Christy Diane Larkin, Jerry Daniel "Danny" Echols and wife, Donelle, James Frost, Brian Frost and wife, Myrna, and Dawn Easley and husband, John; brothers, Dan Echols and wife Judy, and Paul Echols and wife, Tammy, and an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Roy Echols; his mother, Dorothy Burdett; a daughter, Crystal Dawn Echols; brothers, Frank Amos, Calvin Amos, Gene Amos, Arley Echols, and Bill Belyeu; and sisters, Marie Echols and Mae Belle Billinglslea.

The Celebration of Life service for Mr. Jerry Echols will be held on Sunday, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Croley Funeral Home- Gilmer.
