Jerry Leftwich

Jerry Bob Leftwich, a cherished resident of Diana, Texas, passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 83. Jerry was born on May 2, 1941, in Hughes Springs, Texas to James Riley and Delia (Nelson) Leftwich.

Throughout his life, Jerry devoted himself to his career as a builder in construction leaving behind a legacy of strength and craftsmanship that will be remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy, a commitment that speaks to his character and dedication to his country.

Beyond his career, Jerry was a man of diverse passions and interests. He found joy in the simplicity of fishing and camping, embracing the great outdoors with a carefree spirit. In the kitchen, he was known for his cooking skills, often preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table—a true celebration of life. Above all, Jerry enjoyed spending treasured moments with his family, creating memories that would last lifetimes. He will be remembered as not just the greatest dad, but the greatest man that his children have ever known.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 62 years, Pat Leftwich; sons, Shannan Leftwich and his wife Michelle, Shayne Leftwich; Sheridan Leftwich and his wife Shawna; daughter, Sharrone King. Jerry was also a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

 He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: James Edwin Leftwich, Carol Leftwich, Hunter Leftwich, and James Arthur Leftwich; two sisters, Doris Rhen Leftwich and Patsy Ann Blankenship.

A visitation will be held in his honor on August 21, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Peace Fellowship Church in Diana, Texas, where friends and family are invited to share their stories and reminisce. A funeral service will follow at the same location, commencing at 10:00 AM with Bro. Ross Worley and Bro. Mark Sartain officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jared Leftwich, Joe Leftwich, Britt King, Tyler Leftwich, Jeff Adcock, and Jeff Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Cannefax, Luke Spitzer, Jeff Ingison, and Logan Nelson.

Memorial donations may be made to Peace Fellowship Baptist Church in Diana, Texas.
