Jessie Ruth Key

Services for Mrs. Jessie Ruth (Zimmerman) Key, 93, of Gilmer will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.  She will be laid to rest in the Grice Cemetery in Upshur County, TX. Mrs. Key passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Longview.

Jessie was born on December 21, 1929 in Merkel, TX to the late Luther M. Zimmerman and Laura Lorena (Cox) Zimmerman.  She married Rufus "Jack" A. Key March 19, 1960 in Eastland, TX, who preceded her in death in 1992.  She was able to be a homemaker and enjoyed spending time outside gardening. Jessie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Teresa Rogers of Gilmer; grandchildren Joshua Rogers and Jordan Weatherby and her dog Bentley.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Laura Zimmerman; her husband, Rufus "Jack" Key; daughter, Neta June Weatherby; sisters, infant Lucille Zimmerman, Bonnie Manes, Nobie Massoletti; and brothers, Travis Zimmerman and Benny Zimmerman
