Joe Dalton Mumford

Graveside services for Joe Dalton Mumford, 71, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Mumford passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at a Longview hospital. Mr. Mumford was born March 4, 1941, in Angleton, Texas, to Andrew Joseph and Mary Frances Dalton Mumford. He was a truck driver and owner of Mumford Trucking; he loved to fish and watch the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Mumford of Union Grove; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Victor and Faye Mumford of Pritchett, Daryl and Daniela Mumford of Longview and Jerry Wilkinson of Kansas City, Kansas; daughters, Mary Henry of Pflugerville, Texas, Kristi Mumford of Longview and Kimberly Wilkinson of Forney; brothers and sister-in-law, Buddy and Dale Mumford of Harleton and Thomas Lee Mumford of Kilgore; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Murphy of Gilmer and Jo Anna and Bud Rohus of Ore City; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There is no scheduled visitation.
