Funeral services for Joe Wayne Garner, 62, of Kilgore, formerly of Gladewater, will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater, with Mr. Todd Clifton officiating, interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family asks that you put on your best overalls and come celebrate Joe’s life with them. Mr. Garner passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in Kilgore.

Mr. Garner was born on November 9, 1955 in Gilmer, Texas to Ray Eugene Garner and Bennie Lou Clounch Garner. Joe owned and operated Garner’s Wrecker Service in Kilgore. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends especially his children and grandchildren. Joe could fix anything and was considered a “Jack of All Trades”. He was a generous man and was always willing to help someone in need. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife Liz Garner; mother Bennie Lee Garner; three daughters Amanda Sampson and husband Joe, Cecilia Douglas and Michelle Shadowen; three sons Michael Shott and wife Kristi, James Garner and fiancé Rebecca and Dylan Shott; sister Judy McGuire and husband Tony; brother James Garner and wife Cyndee; thirteen grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his father Ray Eugene Garner.
