Johnnie Lee Ault was born on April 29, 1933, in Beckville, Texas, and passed away on April 25, 2026, in Gladewater, Texas. She lived a life filled with remarkable adventures and accomplishments.
On June 22, 1956, she married Bryan Ault, embarking on a partnership filled with shared devotion and service. Their bond paved the way for a life rich in adventure and faith.
A woman of extraordinary pursuits, Johnnie earned her pilot’s license in 1964, marking her first solo flight in Longview, Texas, a testament to her boldness and determination.
Her global spirit took her and Bryan to Teheran, Iran, where they lived for seven years beginning in 1966. There, Johnnie served as Primary President for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a role that reflected her nurturing heart and commitment to community. Their journey continued to Castelldefels, Spain, for two years before moving to Mallorca in 1976, embracing new cultures and experiences that enriched their lives.
Upon returning to America in 1977, Johnnie pursued her GED and achieved certification as a Nurse’s Assistant. In her 60s, she dedicated several years to caring for children at Truman Smith Children’s Hospital, demonstrating a lifelong passion for service and compassion. Together with Bryan, she actively participated in temple work for the LDS Church, highlighting their devotion to faith and family.
From 1988 to 1991, Johnnie and Bryan served a full-time mission in Huesca, Spain, further embodying their steadfast commitment to their beliefs and to helping others. Even in the later years of her life, Johnnie’s adventurous spirit thrived. In 2024, she traveled to Cairo, Egypt, with her daughter Valerie, where she stayed for four months, embracing a new chapter of exploration and bonding.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Valerie Muckleroy; son, Erich Ault; brothers, Jerry McGuire and Thurman McGuire; sisters, Dorothy Roop and Patricia Lively; grandchildren, Amber Muckleroy, Ashley Searcy, Adrienne Muckleroy, Ariel Dunn and Aubrey Muckleroy; great grandchildren, David Muckleroy, Taylor Varner, Gavin Thomas, Cason Dunn, Paxton Muckleroy, Clara Dunn, Knox Deutsch and Liam Searcy.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas McGuire and Josie Hudson McGuire; husband, Bryan Wesley Ault; son, Timothy Ault and grandson, Aaron Muckleroy.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Heritage Center at Kelsey Cemetery. Following the visitation, a service will take place at the same location at 2:00 PM. Johnnie will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Bryan Ault, at Kelsey Cemetery.
