Josephine "Jo" Morris

Mrs. Josephine "Jo" Morris, 94, of Gilmer, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024, to be reunited with her Lord and family.

Jo was born October 14, 1929, in Upshur County, Texas, to her parents, Arthur and Esther Mae McAlister Huggins. She grew up in Upshur County. Jo worked many jobs over the years and helped in retail sales at many places. She loved being around people and socializing. Jo also enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Esther Mae Huggins; two brothers, Roy D. Huggins, Jay Huggins and two sisters, Martha Jean Drennan and Velma Whiteside.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Steelman and husband, Mike; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Paul "Jeff" Thompson, Bradley G. "Brad" Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with Brother Donnie Chamberlain officiating. A visitation period will be held from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service.
