Joyce Fay Williams

Mrs. Joyce Fay Williams, age 77 of Gilmer, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Longview. Joyce was born in Gilmer on February 23, 1944 to the late Dick and Irene (Bugg) Baird. She attended Union Grove Schools, and then married John Wesley Williams in 1964. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and a member of Cherokee Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Wesley Williams of Gilmer; a daughter, Pattie Sue Swain of Pittsburg; a brother, Bobby Wheeler of Gilmer; four grandsons that she raised, Eddie Arnold and wife Chrystal of Gilmer, Timothy Means of Gilmer, Joseph Babb and wife Brittany of Tennessee, Dustin Babb of Gilmer; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kaydon Arnold, Devon Arnold, Wesley Arnold, Justin Arnold, Maddison Arnold, Jaxon Curtis, Jace Curtis, Lucas Babb, Lilly Babb, Dixon Babb, Shylia Babb, Brianna Brown, Abby Miller, Tyler Tate; and one great-great-grandchild, Kylie Ann Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Leslie Faye Williams; brother, Glenn Wheeler; sisters, Shirley Harris, her twin Loyce Calhoun, and Francis Greene.

The family will receive friends at Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Cherokee Cemetery with Bro. Madison Caffey officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Arnold, Jace Curtis, Jeremy Tullar, Jaxon Curtis, Tyler Tate, and David Pickett.
