Judy Verde Markham, 83, of Ore City, TX, passed peacefully on September 17, 2026. Born on June 26, 1943, in Sweetwater, TX, she lived a life filled with compassion, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, church, and community.

Judy is survived by her husband of 62 years, John W. Markham III, her children, Jodi Miller (Marc), John W. Markham IV (Amanda), Jana Minor (Don); her grandchildren, Alex (Kimberly), Elizabeth, Kendal (Shannon), Kaitlin (Cevin), Hunter, Riley (Kirsti), Austin; step grandchildren, Justin, Garrett; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Cyle, Molly, Emma, Case, Kason, Cole, Jack, Carter, Kasey, Katalina; step great grandchildren, Addison, Able, Mateo; her brother, Conrad Coppedge; and many friends she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Velia Coppedge, and sister Nell Friedman.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church, Ore City, Texas.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many who have expressed condolences and support during this bittersweet chapter where Judy goes to Heaven. Judy’s legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
