Memorial graveside services for Larry Ray Kelley, 72, of Big Sandy will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Locust Grove Cemetery. Mr. Kelley passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020, at his home in Big Sandy.
Larry was born July 16, 1948 in Gladewater to the late Lawrence O’Dell Kelley and Lorene Crouch Kelley. He was retired from Texas Utilities where he was known as “Grumpy” after 35 years of service as a Maintenance Supervisor. Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry was hardworking and was a “Jack of all Trades”; he was able to fix just about anything from A/C systems, vehicles, carpentry work, plumbing and anything else he put his mind to. He enjoyed fishing, specifically catfishing, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years Margaret Kelley; two sons Larry Wayne Kelley and wife Donya and Lance Kelley and wife Destiny; four sisters Connie Grainger, Carolyn Marshall, Christine Galbraith and Lisa Thomas; three grandchildren Erin, Amber and Kris; two great grandchildren Roman and Reagan as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Cherish Elaine Kelley.
