Larue Brooks

Services for Mrs. Larue Brooks, 75, of Big Sandy, will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Summit Heights Church at Holly Lake Ranch with Pastor Edward Crouch officiating. Burial will follow at Little Mound cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Brooks was born on September 1, 1936, in Richland Springs, Texas, to Charles Arthor and Josie Floree Tucker Harkey and passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in Big Sandy. She was a homemaker and a member of Summit Heights Church. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Randy Brooks of Las Colinas; daughter, Melody Kay Binns of Upland, CA; grandchildren, Monica Ashley Higgins, J. T. Brooks, Beau Tanner Brooks, Bradi Lane Brooks; and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brooks; brother, C. A. Harkey; sisters, Madeline Edmondson and June House. Pallbearers are Keith Newquist, Doug Black, George McDowell, Ed Loven, Walter Huffman and John Loven. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 1:00 to 2:00pm at the church.
