Lavelda �Cookie� Clowers Burke DIANA �Services for Lavelda �Cookie� Clowers Burke, 68, of Harleton will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana. Brother Craig Harris and Roger Oney are officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery in Gilmer. She passed away July 11, 2014 at her residence, after a brave battle with sickness and a will to stay with her family as long as possible. �Cookie� was born September 21, 1945 in Delhi, Louisiana to Floyd and Verla Ione McCurry. She was a service hostess at Johnny Cace�s Restaurant from 1975 until 2001. She enjoyed walking, hunting, flowers and grandkids that kept her busy. She is survived by her husband: Naylan Burke, son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy Dale, Jr. & Diana Clowers, daughters and sons-in-law: Kipsey Lynn Hight, Kimberly Anne and James Stringfellow, Kandace Ione and Keith Rose, sister-in-law: Betty McCurry, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. �Cookie� was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Russell and Harold McCurry.
