Linda Claudette Cox Childs was born on January 24, 1940, and passed into her eternal home on April 27, 2026. She was one of seven children born to A.H. and Dolly Cox in Carthage, Texas.

Linda was a florist for many years and had a love of flowers but also the outdoors.  She was a member of the Simmons Hill Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. 

She enjoyed working in her yard, fishing and raising her own fishing worms. Linda's greatest love was spending time with her family, friends and her fur puppy Gracie.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Brenda Joyce and Angie Dorough and sons Erwin Childs, Jr. and Jeff Woody, granddaughter Amber Headrick, great grandchildren Raven Jaimes, Madison Headrick and Haley Headrick, great Great grandchildren, Aleigh Tidewell, Waylon Jaimes, Kaliegh Hickman and Lucas Headrick.

Those who preceded Linda in death were her husband, Erwin Childs, Sr., son-in- law Jimmie Joyce, her siblings Jimmy Cox, Joe Cox, Sally Oney, Peggy Brown, Suzy Tally and Wendy Watterson.

Services are on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11am at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Diana, Texas with visitation from 10-11am prior to the service. Interment will be at Smyrna Cemetery, Harleton, Texas, following services.
