It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Davis Vail-Glidden, a beloved sister, aunt, and cherished educator, who left us on June 16, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on November 4, 1945, in Gilmer, Texas, to parents J.T Davis and Rosa Lee Fox-Davis.  Linda spent her life devoted to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of her community and students.  Linda attended East Texas Baptist University and earned her degree in education, later she also attended Stephan F. Austin earning her Master's Degree.

She  dedicated her career to teaching at New Diana ISD, Hughes Springs ISD, and would finish her teaching career and retiring from  Ore City Independent School District in Special Education, where she inspired countless students with her passion for education and her unwavering belief in their potential. Linda's profound impact on her students and colleagues will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know her. Linda's other interest included a love for animals she raised and  showed dogs, loved her baby goats and chickens and basically never meet an animal she did not love.

Linda is survived by her loving sister Dottie Gipson, as well as her nieces and nephews: Amy Hodson, Lisa Tilton, Brad Fenton, Gary Gibson, and Sheri Gibson and a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Each of them carries cherished memories of her kindness, generosity, and the joy she brought into their lives

In honoring her memory, a public viewing will take place at Croley Funeral Home in Diana, TX. on June 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at Ore City Cemetery, Ore City Tx. on June 24, 2025, at 9:30 AM, where she will be laid to rest.

Linda Glidden's legacy of love, education, and family will continue to inspire those who were touched by her spirit. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten

Linda was preceded in death by her parents J.T and Rosa Davis, Husband Steve Vail, Sisters Golda Fenton, and Shirley Coffey
