Louise McWhorter

Graveside services for Louise McWhorter, 100, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. McWhorter passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 in a Gilmer nursing home.

Mrs. McWhorter was born May 16, 1917 in Upshur County. She was a homemaker, who loved gardening and working in her yard. Mrs. McWhorter loved her church family and was a lifetime member of Rosewood Baptist Church.

Mrs. McWhorter is survived by her grandchildren, Jeff McWhorter, Mark McWhorter, Charles McWhorter, David McWhorter, Chris Lancaster, Kevin Lancaster and Jennifer Stone, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl McWhorter; sons, Charles McWhorter and James McWhorter; daughter, Shirley McWhorter Lancaster; parents; four brothers; and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McWhorter, Charles McWhorter, Mark McWhorter, David McWhorter, Chris Lancaster and Kevin Lancaster

Honorary Pallbearer will be Eddie Anderson.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
