Mack C. McClain

Mack C. McClain was called home by his Lord and Savior on April 25, 2026.

Mack was born on December 10, 1936, to T.L. McClain and Myrtie Lee Willie McClain. Mack was raised in Spurger, Texas where he graduated from Spurger High in 1955.

Soon after graduation he went to work in the oil field. He married his bride of 64 years, Katherine Ann Jenkins McClain and together they had one daughter, Suzanne McClain Parish who they dearly cherished. Making their home in Silsbee, Texas for many years.

Mack retired from Quail Creek Oil as an oilfield gauger and after retirement in 2005 they relocated to Gilmer, Texas where Mack called home and enjoyed living every day.

Mack held a special place for his neighbors and friends, whose companionship brought great joy to his days. Among those close to Mack were his dear friends, Darrel and Sandy Wilson. They gave him great love and support, and their friendship meant a lot to him. Mack often shared stories about the people around him, always speaking of how good everyone was to him.

Most of all Mack looked forward to each service he attended at Glade Creek Baptist Church that he dearly loved as well as his church family, those services were the highlight of his week.

Mack will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his grandson, Troy Parish and wife Beth; great grandsons, Elijah, Noah, Ezekiel and Jesse Parish all of Spring, Texas; niece Barbara Smith and husband Tommy of Sour Lake, Texas; sister, Jean Isaacks of Warren, Texas; along with a host of other family members and friends.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine Ann McClain and daughter, Suzanne Parish.

Services for Mack McClain, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Glade Creek Baptist Church in Gilmer at 10:00 A.M. A visitation time will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the service.

Later that day, at 4:00 P.M., Mack will be laid to rest at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger, Texas.
