Madaline Fischtziur Barber, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in Tyler, Smith County, Texas. She was born on September 10, 1943, to A.A. Fischtziur Sr. and Norma Gwendolyn Alexander.
Madaline leaves behind a legacy of love, family, strength, and cherished memories that will continue through the generations. She was deeply loved and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Keith Dwight Barber of Longview, Texas.
She is also survived by her children and loved ones: ReDonna Hawkins Holden of Frisco, Texas; Charles Gavin Copeland of Frisco, Texas; Kristie Copeland of Mesquite, Texas; Nicholas Barber; Lauren Schmidt (Andrew); Lincoln Barber; and Ginger Gamble.
She is survived by her siblings, Gina Fischtziur Taylor (Ferrell) of Longview, Texas, and Anthony Andrew Fischtziur Jr. (Leslie) of Greenville, Texas.
Her grandchildren include Rayvin Holden of Longview, Texas; Chase Pullen (Kayla) of White Oak, Texas; Jaiden Reneau of Longview, Texas; Caroline Mankin (Brock) of Celina, Texas; Jack Copeland of Frisco, Texas; and Colton Schmidt.
Madeline’s family continued to grow through her great-grandchildren, including Alex Holden (Maddie), Ayden Morales, Aliana Ray Morales, Lily Faye Pullen, and Maggie Pullen, all of whom will carry her memory forward.
She was also blessed with one great-great-grandson, Luke Rhett Holden of Gilmer, Texas.
Madaline was preceded in death by her beloved parents, A.A Fischtziur Sr. and Norma Gwendolyn Alexander; her youngest daughter, Alisa Hawkins Reneau; and her son, Cody Pershing Barber.
Madaline's life was a gift to her family, and the love she gave will remain woven into the lives of those who survive her. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the memories she created, the lessons she shared, and the love she gave will live on through every generation that follows.
Her greatest legacy is the family she loved and the generations who will continue to carry her memory forward. Her stories, her love, and the imprint she left on the hearts of those who knew her will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of her family.
May she rest peacefully, surrounded by the love of those whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 21, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Longview, Texas at 12:30 PM.
