Mary Jean Nichols

Mary Jean Nichols, 86, of Longview, Texas passed away after a brief battle with cancer on February 16, 2025. She was born September 26, 1938 the oldest of four children to Glen and Trudy Bernice Kilman of Gladewater, Texas. Mary belonged to The Gladewater Church Of The Nazarene. Often she would share her God-given talent of writing poems glorifying God. Some of her favorite things included eating Mexican food at the old Casa Ole in Longview with family or church friends. Her favorite color was red. She was often wearing red from head to toe, complete with matching purse and shoes. Mary seldom missed Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Let's Make A Deal. She was a "hugger". She had a tender, compassionate heart and a 'silly' side. In her younger years she would do a hysterical "chicken strut" to make us laugh and we sure did. She was truly loved and will be missed every day.

Mary is survived by her children; Elaine Simmons, Donna Cramer and Mattie Fuller, Glenda Cramer. Very dear to her heart are Jose Juarez and Brenda 'Ellis' Moss. Her siblings, Carl Kilman, Alecia (Lisa) and Leo Watson. Eleven grandchildren: Landon Clark, Patricia Wiess, Robert Baker, Crystal Acton, Joshua Thomas, Kimberly Thomas Jenkins, Jessica Guevara, Clarissa Beltran, Donald Ray "Pelon" Rodriquez. And her precious guinea pig "Sissy". Thirty three great grands, numerous great great grands, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by several children: three stillborn sons, Phyliss Jean Cramer, age of 7, of Quail, Texas, Ray Simmons of Midland, Texas; sister, Velma Hart; brother-in-law, Jerry Hart both of Hankamer, Texas
