Mavinee Roberts

Mavinee Roberts, a longtime resident of Gilmer, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2026, in Longview, Texas. She was born on January 10, 1930, to Marion Lee Petty and Lillian Lenora Lansdale Petty in Gilmer, Texas.

Throughout her life, Mavinee brought joy to many through her work as a seamstress, using her skills to create beautiful garments. She was greatly admired not only for her talent but for her kindness and compassion towards others. Mavinee was an avid gardener with a magical green thumb. She grew and repotted many plants to give to her friends and family with a cup of coffee and a smile. She spent many hours painting with acrylic and oil paints and working jigsaw puzzles. Mavinee was also a dedicated member of the Enon Baptist Church for over 55 years, where she found community and fellowship.

Those left to cherish her memory is a family she dearly loved; her sons, Ronney Roberts and wife Dott, Rick Roberts and wife Karen; five grandchildren, Michael Roberts and wife Valerie, Gregg Lansdale and wife Randi, Matthew Roberts, Brandon Roberts and wife November, Blake Roberts along with fifteen greatchildren; sister, Clovis Campbell and husband Gayle, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Mavinee is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerald D. Roberts, and sisters, Inez Richardson, Gladys Steelman, Dorothy Turner, Lois Roberts, Fayrene Byers, and Joyce Knight.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Longview Regional Hospital, ICU unit, the 1st floor unit and Heart to Heart Hospice for all their loving care.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas; with a short prayer service immediately following.

A private burial to follow at Enon Cemetery, Enon Community, Gilmer, Texas.
