Mildred Penick

Graveside service for Mildred Penick, 94 of Tyler, TX formerly of Upshur County will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 9, 2018 at Glenwood Community Cemetery with Mike Kessler officiating and under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Friday, February 9, 2018 from 12:30 until 1:30 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Penick passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Dallas, TX.

Mildred was born in Glenwood, TX on July 10, 1923, to the late Burrell Porter, Sr. and Gladys (Anderson) Porter. She married Lawrence “Larry” Penick on July 9, 1946. Mrs. Penick was a devoted housewife who took great pride in tending to her family. She was also a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Gilmer and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Penick is survived by her son; Don Penick and wife Debbie of Dallas; daughter Gail Evans and husband Jimmy of Tyler, and one grandchild; Kimberly Penick

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Lawrence “Larry” Penick and brother B.J. Porter Jr.
