Opal Mae Berry Sellers, 75, of Lake O’ the Pines, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2022 . Opal was born in Haskell, Texas on December 26, 1946 to Aubrey Allen Berry and Ila Mae Berry.
She married the love of her life, Jimmy Dan Sellers, on August 28, 1981 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2022.
Opal was known by many names in her lifetime, a few being Mama, Mom, Honey, Granny and Aunt Opal. She lived her life as the very definition of a “Strong Woman”, not only in mind, but in her heart and soul. She was passionate, strong willed and determined about many things and made sure you knew where she stood on each subject, but always in the kindest way possible. Opal was a care giver who always gave of herself and never asked, wanted or expected anything in return. She loved Sunflowers, Coffee and Casinos, not necessarily in that order, the smell of freshly mowed grass, and the sound of the rain on a tin roof. She much preferred 100° weather over 50° weather, but appreciated the beauty of any and all of Gods creations, even if it had to be cold weather. She loved her fruit trees and gardening and was known to put up many a pints and quarts of homegrown fruits and vegetables, which she shared amongst neighbors, family and friends.
Opal had the biggest heart for any animal, and picked up many astray and took them home, to love and take care of until she could find them a new home that would love them just as much as she did. Her fur babies, Toto, Kathy and Tiger are going to miss her loving voice and caring hands.
The highlight of her life was spending time with her family and sharing and hearing laughter around the room.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Dan Sellers, a sister, Jone Rister, brother, Kenneth Berry and grandson, Christopher Breeding.
Those she leaves behind, that will miss her loving earthly presence, are; sisters, Maggie Frost and Wanda Allen, son, Clint Pyron and wife, Joyce, and daughters, Vivian (Donna) Gray and husband, Phillip, Rachelle Gaines, Tonya Horn and Tracy Mainka, grandchildren, Carl Walker and wife, Nickol, Randy Carpenter; Zachary Pyron and wife, Marrissa, Scott Gaines, Lockie Thomas and husband, Stayton, Roxanne Mainka, Ryan Mainka and Paula Goff and husband, Dan, along with her 10 precious great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, church family and so many friends.
