Patricia "Patt" Stegall

Patt was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known to most as “ MawMaw”. Patricia Ann Stegall, 75, of Big Sandy TX, died in Bullhead City, AZ on March 20, 2024.

She was born in Longview, TX in 1948 to William Estell Vaughan and Diane Bonita Heim. Patt attended Big Sandy High School before studying nursing at Longview Vocational Nursing School. She then began working at Mother Francis Hospital in the nursery. Her loving and caring personality made this role a perfect fit.

Patt met Doug in 1963 where they became high school sweethearts. Doug was the love of her life and they were excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on July 17, 1967. They were married 56 years.

She is survived by her husband Doug Stegall of Big Sandy, daughter Brenda and husband Ronnie Berryhill of Palestine, daughter Heather and husband Phillip Prescott of Big Sandy. Five grandchildren: Michael Prescott, Ashley Prescott, Chase Stegall, Macie Rodriguez, Makaia Hill and twelve great grandchildren that she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug’s parents and grandson Matthew Prescott.

Everyone who knew MawMaw knew how much she loved traveling, reading and playing with her grandkids and great grandkids any chance she got. She explored destinations across the US and Canada, always sending postcards to share her trips. She also enjoyed spending hours in the pool with her grandkids each summer and always spoiling them by bringing coke floats as a hot summer day treat. MawMaw touched the lives of everyone she met and will always be remembered for her generous and outgoing spirit. MawMaw’s comforting words, “It will all be alright”, will echo in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love will be cherished by her family and friends forever. We could not have asked for a better Wife, Mom, and MawMaw, and will miss her every day. MawMaw’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
