Patrick "Pat" Timothy Clark

Patrick Timothy Clark was born on July 27, 1952 in Gladewater, Texas and went to his eternal home on June 7, 2025 in Diana, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mavis Clark, brothers Dick, Mike, and Chuck Clark, and his sister Barbara Mye. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judy; son Ethan (wife Brandi) and daughter Stefanie Clark Eakin (husband Chris), 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who fondly remember their Uncle Pat.

As a child, Pat relocated frequently due to his father’s military service, living in numerous locations around the US as well as for 4 years in France. He met his wife to be, Judy, while in high school in Harleton, Texas and after dating for 3 years, they married on July 1, 1972.

Pat was a lifetime learner. After high school, he received his Associates Degree at Kilgore College followed by a Bachelors Degree in science from what would become the University of Texas at Tyler. He also studied at the University of North Texas and Stephen F. Austin University from which he received his Master’s degree in Education.

He greatly valued education, not just in his own life or that of his family, but the role that learning has on a community and society as a whole. He worked as a high school teacher and coached various sports before training to work in Special Education, first as a diagnostician, then as an administrator serving as the Special Education Director for Upshur County for many years before becoming Curriculum Director and Assistant Superintendent of Gilmer ISD, and then Superintendent of the Lexington ISD and retiring as Superintendent of the Diana ISD.

He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and sports and served as a baseball coach in Ore City, Texas for a number of years. He would often be found joining in on games of basketball, baseball or football with his children and their friends and played in competitive softball and baseball leagues into his 40s.

In a full life that included many health challenges in his later years, his greatest joy and comfort came from his strong faith and his great love of God. He was a long-time member of the Graceton Church of Christ, teaching many classes through the years and serving as both a deacon and later as an elder of the congregation. In the last years of his life, despite the great difficulty and frequent discomfort he endured, he always desired to be present with his church family on Sundays and organized a Men’s Bible study that met at his home every Tuesday morning.

Pat Clark was a good son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, but above all, he was a committed son of God with a great faith in his Son, Jesus Christ.
