Peggy Jo Lange passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, in her hometown of Gilmer, Texas. Born on December 9, 1931, in Gilmer, she lived a life marked by dedication to her family and faith.
Peggy embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and devotion. She spent her days creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love and good meals.
As a longtime member of Cherokee Baptist Church, she found solace and strength in her faith, which sustained her through life’s many seasons. The church was more than a place of worship for Peggy, it was a family where she gave and received love in abundance.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Sherry Waller Knabenshue and husband Robert of Harleton, Tina Evans of Dallas and Diane Yazell and husband Richard of Crystal Beach; son, Rick Lange of Dallas; sisters, Sara Hartgraves of Tyler and Ann Barnes of Gilmer; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Mangham, Robin Knabenshue, Renee Sanders, Denise Reynolds, Brannon Yazell and Brandilyn Moore; along with 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Virda Mckinley; husband, Henry Lange; son, Larry Waller; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation for Peggy will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Cherokee Cemetery in Gilmer.
