Peggy Dolores Wagner passed away on May 7, 2025, in Diana, Texas peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 83. She was born in Longview, Texas on October 25, 1941.
Dolores was a New Diana High School graduate and then graduated in January 1963 from Ragland Fenlaw Hospital from the School of Nursing. She worked as an LVN for over forty years. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Dolores was known for being the backbone of the family, strong work ethic, and unmatched loyalty. She raised five children with unwavering strength and endless love, creating a home filled with warmth and wisdom. She did everything with grit, love, and zero complaints. If you were lucky enough to get her advice, it would probably change your life. Dolores was also a passionate horse and dog breeder. She had a lifelong love for animals and found joy and success in showing champion dogs, personally finishing several to their championship titles. Her dedication, eye for quality, and competitive spirit earned her respect and recognition in the show community.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jodie Jackson Smith and Dorothy Irene Smith, and her two brothers, Kenneth Murray Smith and Harvey Crawford Smith. She is survived by her children, Stacy Lynn Smith and husband Larry Smith, Kyle Dodd Smith, Kenda Jane Peeples and her husband Jeff Peeples, Kelly Wagner, Steven Eric Foster and his wife Meghan Nicole Foster. Her grandchildren Brandon and Lacy McCloskey, Preston Pentecost, Bailey and Ellis Walker, Tyler Smith, Amanda and Mallory Michaels, Hailey and Alvin Parker, Aaron Camp, Kelsi and Ford Sobey, Bella Foster, Meiah Mendoza, and Alijah Mendoza, fifteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and countless others who knew her by blood or heart.
A celebration of Dolores’ life will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at two o’clock in the afternoon at Croley Funeral Home, 1782 US Hwy 259, Diana, Texas 75640, with the visitation beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon.
Dolores’ life was a beautiful blend of grit, grace, and heart- and those who knew her will carry her spirit with them always.
