Perry Donald
Miller
Aug 30, 2026 — Sep 27, 2026
Big Sandy, Texas
Perry Donald Miller passed away September 27, 2026, in Longview, Texas. Born on August 30, 1934, in Big Sandy, Texas, Perry lived a fulfilling life of 92 years.
On January 7, 1955, Perry married Betty Lou Green, beginning a marriage that would span 52 years. Just 5 days later, on January 12, he joined the United States Army, where he served as a military policeman stationed in Germany until his discharge on December 24, 1956. Through the decades that followed, Perry and Betty built a life together that was rooted in faith, which served as a foundation for their family until her passing in 2007.
In his free time, Perry could be found woodworking, reloading bullets for his gun collection, making spicy jalapeno pickles for his family, and serving his community as a deacon at Holly Brook Baptist Church in Hawkins, Texas. He was well known for his sense of quick-witted humor, always prepared to crack a joke to keep those around him laughing. He valued time with his family and never showed up empty-handed, especially around the holidays when everyone could count on him to bring his family-famous marinated baked pineapple ham.
Perry was welcomed by our Lord and reunited in Heaven with his loved ones, greeted by his wife, Betty Lou Miller; his parents, James S. Miller and Hallie Marie (Glenn) Miller; his sisters, Hazel Welk and Mary (Shepperd) Schrader; his brothers, Albert Miller and David Miller; and his devoted friend, Sally Green.
Perry’s memory will live on through his two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Steve Lewis of Longview, Texas, and Jan and John E. Babineaux of White Oak, Texas; beloved grandchildren, Lacey and husband Luke Rowan of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bryson and wife Jill Brittain of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Bree and husband Eric Wright of White Oak, Texas, and Victoria Babineaux of Tyler, Texas; along with cherished great-grandchildren, Rori Rowan and Remi Rowan of Little Rock, Arkansas, Emmah Brittain and Ethan Brittain of Mont Belvieu, Texas, and Hallie Wright, Hayes Wright, and Ellie Wright of White Oak, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Heritage at Longview and HeartsWay Hospice for their loving care and special friendships.
Well done, good and faithful servant!
