Phelix Deron 'Donnie' Spangler

Memorial services for Phelix Deron "Donnie" Spangler, 67, of Gilmer, will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 3 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on May 8, 1946, in Bluefield, Virginia, to Felix Eugene and Lois Elizabeth Spangler, he died on Sunday, June 30, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked in construction most of his life. Known to everyone as "Donnie," he was the life of the party, even if there wasn"t a party. He was always joking and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Pamela K. Spangler; two daughters, Brenda L. Estes and husband Jeramy "Bo" Estes; Stacey L. Crumley and husband Shawn Crumley, all of Gilmer; sister, Brenda D. Stevens and husband Alvin Stevens of Winchester, VA; two brothers, Wesley Spangler, Sr. of Gilmer; and Michael Spangler and his wife Jeane of Indiana; 6 grandchildren, Lillian, Emilee, Trinity, Jocei, Sadie, and Shawn Crumley, Jr.; great-uncle and aunt, Ronnie and Carolyn Spangler of Gilmer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his best friend, his dog, "Patch." He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois E. Spangler and father, Felix E. Spangler. No visitation is scheduled.
