Ray Lansdale

A visitation for Ray Lansdale, 81, Longview will be Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Lansdale passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in Longview.

Mr. Lansdale was born September 5, 1935 in Gilmer to the late Lynch Lavon Lansdale and Eula Caldwell Lansdale. Ray was a retired Brew Master for Schlitz and Stroh's Brewery. He was a member of the Hallsville Church of Christ. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife Eva Lansdale of Longview; two sons Joe Lansdale of Longview and Tracy Lansdale of Gilmer; daughter Shana Matter of Longview; sister Stella Anderson of Grice; three brothers-in-law Robert Anderson, William Henry Smith, Jr. and wife Kay and Elwin Smith; nine grandchildren Daniel, Lance, Jennifer, Aleisha, Andrew, Colby, Sha, Joshua and Stephen; eight great grandchildren Briana, Dalen, Emma, Addison, Hunter, Tristen, Layla and Jennifer; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, a son Daniel Lansdale, a daughter Robin Lansdale and a sister-in-law Judy Smith.
